The Eating and Body Image (EBI) research lab is a group of undergraduate and graduate students in psychology at Western Washington University dedicated to understanding how and why eating and weight disorders develop, with the ultimate goal of improving access to evidence-based interventions for eating, weight, and body image disturbances.
The EBI lab is directed by Anna Ciao, PhD, Assistant Professor of Psychology at Western Washington University. Dr. Ciao earned her BA in Psychology from Trinity University (2004) in San Antonio, TX, and her MA (2009) and PhD (2013) in Clinical Psychology from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in Honolulu, HI. She completed her predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Chicago Eating Disorders Program in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences. Dr. Ciao joined Western’s faculty in 2014 to teach courses in abnormal psychology and conduct clinical research in the area of eating and weight disorders.
